The PLRB has produced a list of staff employees eligible to vote in the election. The following individuals will be eligible to vote: All full-time and regular part-time professional and non-professional employees employed by the University of Pittsburgh at all of its campuses in Pennsylvania and excluding:
- University faculty.
- Graduate student employees with appointments, such as teaching assistants and research assistants (staff members who are enrolled in graduate programs maintain eligibility).
- Employees represented by another union.
- Management-level employees, supervisors (including first-level supervisors), casual employees, confidential employees and guards as defined in the Act.
Additionally, professional staff employees will vote on whether or not they want to be included in bargaining unit that includes non-professional staff employees. Employees whose positions require a bachelor’s or master’s degree are considered professional employees; employees whose position does not require a bachelor’s or master’s degree are considered non-professional employees.
